Your Mrs is right, I think - a case of an unabashed ego hiding beneath the cloak of charitable giving. Rich "philanthropists" are sometimes of this ilk - preferring not to pay tax, but to claim personal credit for alleviating someone else's problem.
The difference with Camilla is that she often had to rely on taxpayers stumping up the money which she liked to throw around. I don't think she was in it for personal financial gain.

I was discussing this with my Mrs, I was saying that Camila came across as quite thick. Mr Mrs reckoned that Camila was not stupid but delusional and egotistical so she was sort of deliberately not seeing/accepting her errors.
If people want to give money as individuals so she ends up like a second welfare state then that's perfectly reasonable because she didn't force them to give their money. The bigger issue is the millions and millions that the government gave... the Tories and Labour. ####ing idiots.

Yes I did watch it.
The woman was totally out of her depth and yet was allowed to act with impunity like some big enormous dumb whale.
She is not even all that Intelligent which makes it even worse, she was basically another branch of the welfare state and that is not what she was meant to be. Throwing money at people does not solve issues and probably allows those said people to become arrogant and even more lost to society.
Was it all her fault ? NO NO NO it was the fault of successive governments who allowed her to grow (No pun intended) she became a monster who did not have a clue just waddling around acting like a queen bee.
When she is asked if she feels she has done wrong she arrogantly replies No I wish i could have given more money She is obviously an Idiot as her reply should be I wish I would have used the moneys in better ways than I chose to.

The Standard slaughtering her are hypocrites. Every time she was in financial difficulties she would be on the front page of the Standard as they would give her huge column inches to say how terrible it would be if they didn't get more money.
I don't actually believe she nicked any money. She emotionally blackmailed politicians publicly and they were too cowardly to say no. There is no evidence she nicked any money in terms of embezzlement, to my knowledge.
